WHY RESTORATIVE JUSTICE
AND WHY RESTORATIVE RESOURCES?

As a scholar and advocate of social justice, I believe that the current dominant systems of penal and civil control cause more harm than they prevent, whereas Restorative Justice heals that harm.  Restorative Resources draws on and applies this principle on the ground.

Email: kenemark@srcs.k12.ca.us

Expertise: District Administrator - Coordinator at Student & Family Engagement, Santa Rosa City Schools

WHY RESTORATIVE JUSTICE
AND WHY RESTORATIVE RESOURCES?

For me growing up, I found that the biggest and most important lessons come from when we repaired any harm that we caused and learned from our mistakes so that we don’t make them again and did this WITH those around us and not TO them; I have learned that Restorative Practices brings the spirit into the science of learning.
READ MORE ABOUT KAESA
Kaesa holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Sonoma State University, with a Bilingual Teaching Credential in Spanish from CSU Chico.  Both degrees have opened doors for her passion - to connect with students and parents in helping their students make it through school, to reach their maximum potential, and become good human beings.

Kaesa’s career began as a Spanish and bilingual ESL teacher.  In 2000 for Santa Rosa City Schools, she became a School Site Administrator in secondary schools, 7 years as an elementary principal, and 5 years supporting staff district wide as a District Administrator - Coordinator.

Some of the most meaningful work Kaesa found was after learning about Restorative Practices, Restorative Circle Practice, and the formal facilitation of healing harm circles; all this came from a variety of staff members at one time were employed by Restorative Resources.
