ADULT PROGRAMS

In our criminal justice system, individuals over the age of 18 are treated as adults. If you are over 18 and have been referred to our agency for a Restorative Conference by the Superior Court or your Probation Officer, you may enter our Restorative Justice Program. The purpose of the program is to address the harms caused by the  wrongdoing as well as the needs of all parties impacted. Rather than punishment, we seek to bring about healing for all involved. The process includes the one who committed the offense and possibly family members, impacted parties, law enforcement and community members.
Each party meets with a staff member to prepare for a meeting, or Restorative Conference, which includes all impacted parties who chose to participate, for an open dialogue to better understand the incident, impacts, and needs of those affected. A Restorative Action Plan results from the conference, made up of agreements to meet those needs, or to make amends and put things as right as possible for those impacted. Staff works with, and supports, the referred party in successfully completing their plan. When complete, the referring party will be notified.
